Wild Geese
Wilde Gazen and Plant N Boom Foundation will together improve the resilience of local female farmers in Sierra Leone. The funds raised will be used to establish small-scale food forests and train people in caring for the young trees. During Sierra Leone's increasingly long dry season, this climate aid is literally vital for people, animals, and plants.
The planting of food forests not only ensures landscape restoration but also provides a new source of food and income for local farmers. In addition to the benefits for people, the restored forests are also a safe place for many animals and insects. Recently, a rare marsh turtle was found in one of the forests. It can now have a safe place to live, free from forest fires and other dangers. It may seem like a small success, but it is one nonetheless!
