IMCD partners with Plant N Boom for a sustainable future

Starting this year, IMCD is taking a green step forward. For every new employee who joins our team, a tree will be planted in partnership with Plant N Boom, an organization dedicated to restoring our planet by planting trees in Sierra Leone.

Eamonn Hanson, founder of Plant N Boom, emphasizes that trees are vital to our planet. He points to a BOS+ article showing that about 12.5% of our medicines come from forests, as a quarter of our medicines contain plant compounds, half of which come from tropical rainforests. In other words, forests play a crucial role in the production of a significant portion of our medicines.

Our partnership with Plant N Boom is already having a positive impact. With this effort, an estimated 12.5 tons of CO2 will be absorbed by the trees. Beyond being an environmentally friendly act, it is also one that benefits the health and well-being of many communities in Sierra Leone.

"IMCD has already proven itself as a company that takes responsibility for the planet," Hanson says. The action to plant a tree for every new employee is a great initiative. We hope this commitment continues to grow and that IMCD's commitment to a greener world will only get stronger."

The positive impact does not stop here. IMCD's ongoing commitment to sustainability is evident, with various cleanup efforts, recycling initiatives and local and national environmental actions. Through such initiatives, we can pave the way for a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future.
