Wild Geese

back

Wilde Gazen and the Plant N Boom Foundation are teaming up to improve the resilience of local female farmers in Sierra Leone. Funds raised will be used to establish small-scale food forests and train people to care for the saplings. During Sierra Leone's increasingly long drought season, this climate relief is literally vital for people, animals and plants.

Planting food forests not only provides landscape restoration, but is also a new source of food and income for local farmers. In addition to the benefits to people, the restored forests are also a safe haven for many animals and insects. Recently, a rare bog turtle was found in one of the forests. This one can now have a safe place to live. Free from all forest fires and other danger. It may seem like a small success, but it is still one!
